Supreme Court allows trading in cryptocurrency, revokes 2018 ban imposed by RBI

The Supreme Court on Wednesday allowed trading in cryptocurrency and revoked a 2018 ban which was imposed by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). The apex court was hearing petitions challenging the RBI’s 2018 circular which barred banks from trading in cryptocurrencies.

Cryptocurrency is an internet-based medium used to conduct financial transactions.
